U16s beat Boden
The Under 16's continued their recent good form when they took on local rivals Ballyboden St Endas a Division 4 match in Silverpark.
After a thrilling recovery from a second half 10 point deficit against St Olafs on Thursday night, and in the peak of communion season, a skeleton Crokes 16C squad lined out against Ballyboden B on Saturday.
Having lost Jack Stacey with a broken thumb in the first half in which they played all the hurling into a stiff breeze and sometimes hailstones, Crokes faced into a second half, 0-1 to 2-3 behind. However, with relentless determination and admirable teamwork, Crokes scored 2-8 without reply to win in some style. Notable were points from play from Conor Walsh and Joey Dalton and goals from Neil Mooney, as well as a critical triple save from stand-in keeper Ronan Boyce in the middle of the half, when the game was in the balance.
Crokes starting line-up: Cian Moriarity, Ciaran Gorman, Jack Stacey, Daithi Sultan, Conor Walsh, Ronan Boyce, David Dagg, Paul Leonard, Luke Shearer, Joey Dalton, Colum O’Se, Sean O’Sullivan, Neil Mooney.
