Under 16s beat Lucan at Silverpark

The Under 16s beat Lucan Sarsfields by 3-09 to 1-10 in Silverpark on Saturday 17 May 2008. The throw-in was brought forward to 2pm to allow both teams and their supporters make their way to Parnell Park later in the day for the Dublin Féile finals.

Although Lucan scored the first point, Crokes quickly responded with a well-taken goal by Niko Salvino, set up by Oisín O Gallchobhair. Lucan came back with two more points. Crokes then rattled the net with two more goals, first by Niko Salvino and a second by Karl Russell, both again set up by Oisín O Gallchobhair, who was having a fine game at corner forward. Points by James O'Keeffe, Tom Clarke and Mark O'Dwyer further extended the lead. With Lucan scoring a late goal the half finished 3-03 to 1-03 in Crokes' favour.

Crokes faced into the wind in the second half and continued to work diligently. Lucan scored seven points in this half but failed to find the net due to some fine goalkeeping by Sean Garvey and good work by the defence. Further points by Eoin O'Dywer, Mark O'Dwyer, Oisín O Gallchobhair and Jude Sweeney meant Crokes cruised to a well earned victory.
