Under strength Minors draw with Cuala

Great tenacity, focus and spirit earns share of the points

It's the time of year when teams struggle to field what might be regarded as their "strongest" 15. However, despite being severely depleted and bereft of a large cohort of key players, Crokes came away from this crucial MHL Division 1 match in a sunny Shankill with a share of the spoils. Cuala's indiscipline cost them dearly, as the majority of Crokes' scores were from pointed frees. Indeed Crokes might have won it in the end, but for a goal-line save by Cuala in the closing minutes.

Level pegging at half time (Cuala 0-09, Crokes 1-06) there was still nothing in at at the final whistle. Under the circumstances an excellent result and a great show of fighting spirit by the lads.
