Intermediates v Setanta

On Saturday evening 14th April 2007 in the Intermediate Championship Crokes pushed aside the challenge of Setanta by 2-14 to 0-7 in Silverpark.  It was nip and tuck for most of the first half until Adrian Crean’s goal, followed immediately by a Michael Dalton point put daylight between the sides.  With the scoreline reading 2-7 to 0-5 at half time the visitors had to mount an early second half challenge to get into the game.  This failed to materialise and Crokes pulled away with the full forward trio of Crean, Diarmuid Howley and Eoin Roche accounting for 2-11 of the final tally.  They were ably supported by goalkeeper, Paul Graham, Dave Canny, Willie Ryan, Ray Mangan, Michael Dalton and Fergus Garvey.

Crokes second game in the five game round robin stage of the championship is fixed away to Fingallians in Lawless Park, Swords, on 28th April and the remainder of the programme is:

Junior 5’s v Setanta

dog070415J5Setanta1.jpgOn Sunday afternoon in Silverpark the Junior 5’s played their second championship game of the year and overcame Setanta 4-5 to 2-9.  Crokes led by a slender two points (2-4 to 1-5) at the interval..  A thirty eight minute Barry Gavigan goal put the home team five ahead but the Ballymun men clawed their way back to parity and it took a combination of Nick Canny’s cracking 56th minute goal and last minute goalkeeping heroics from Pat Halpin to win the game.
