KCLF - Chill Insurance All Ireland U14 7 A Side Competition - Saturday 14th September 2019-
THE scene is set for the 16th annual Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland U14 7-a-side competition, kindly sponsored by Chill Insurance, which will take place on Saturday, September 14th, 2019.
32 teams from 25 counties will feature during what promises to be a spectacular day of Football, and on the eve of the 2019 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Finals at Croke Park.
Ladies Gaelic Football Association President attended the official launch on Monday evening, September 2nd, and she commended the huge work from the Kilmacud Crokes club in ensuring that this event has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
Marie Hickey noted that events such as the Kilmacud Crokes U14 7s help to promote all that is good about Ladies Football, and she reflected upon the positive and supportive feedback from supporters attending the games.
This is very much in line with the messages of positive encouragement for players coming from coaches and mentors of the various teams.
This is the very essence of Ladies Gaelic Football and the Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland U14 7s will see many photographs being taken, capturing beaming smiles, and images of opposition players embracing and shaking hands.
Marie Hickey added that she hopes to see all teams participate in the competition with great determination, but with a spirit of respect for others.
Above all, the LGFA President stressed the over-riding importance of players enjoying themselves on the day.
Marie Hickey commented: “I hope that many of you present for the Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland U14 7s competition will make the trip to Croke Park on the following day, for the 2019 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Finals.
“At 11.45am, the action gets underway when Fermanagh play Louth in the Junior Final, followed by the Intermediate decider between Meath and Tipperary at 1.45pm.
“At 4pm, Dublin and Galway will meet in the Senior Final, with Dublin aiming for a third successive Brendan Martin Cup.
“Indeed, on this weekend, it could be a glorious double for Dublin, with the men’s team set to replay against Kerry at Croke Park on Saturday evening, but I’m sure that Kerry and Galway will have something to say about that!”
Kilmacud Crokes Ladies Football Chairperson Tony Hamill, added: “I’m delighted to have Chill Insurance on board as sponsors for the third year running, to support the running of the All-Ireland U14 7s competition.
“I look forward to working with Chill Insurance in the years to come and they have added greatly to the profile of this competition.
“Their generous financial contribution assists greatly with the efficient running of the 7s competition – and I sincerely hope that the 2019 event will be competitive and enjoyable.
“I wish all of the competing teams the very best of luck, with players strengthening existing friendships and forming new ones, which is another hugely important element of the day.”
Kevin Foley, Cathaoirleach, Cill Mochuda na Crócaigh said he is looking forward to welcoming all players and mentors and supporters to Stillorgan for this key event.
He added: “I hope that everybody will enjoy this wonderful event, which is now a key date on the annual LGFA Calendar.”
2019 will see top teams competing at the Chill Insurance All Ireland U14 7s Competition, including defending champions St Ergnat’s Moneyglass from Antrim, and the national Féile champions Claregalway from Galway.
Games will commence from 10:00am in Páirc De Búrca Glenalbyn, Silverpark and Naomh Olaf, with the Plate Final at 4:45pm and the Cup Final at 5:30pm in Páirc De Búrca.
Final teams will be led on to the pitch by a piper! All are welcome – go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir!
