Football School Of Excellence August 2016
Football School of Excellence 2016
We have just come to the end of the 2016 Football School of Excellence, which was held over the last 2 weeks in Silverpark. In total we had 60 players attending ranging in age from our U12 to U16 teams.
It is a testament to the quality of the players that we produce in our club that the coaches on the camp were all current or ex Kilmacud Crokes Senior Footballers. The quality of coaching was top class and the feedback from the parents and players reflected this. The coaches involved were Maurice Leahy, Ross O’Carroll, Darren Magee, Pat Burke ably assisted by Ryan Donnelly.
On the 2nd Wednesday we had a visit to the camp by Paul Mannion, current Dublin Senior Football player and Kilmacud Crokes Senior. Paul spoke at length to the players about his own journey over the past 10 years and gave some valuable insights into how he trains and prepares for big days. There followed a very interesting Q & A with some very insightful questions from the young players.
We are also grateful to our current Senior Football joint Captain Cian O’Sullivan who kindly donated some of his Dublin training gear as prizes for the end of the camp.
The following players were voted as the various winners by the coaches-
Older Group
Player of the camp – Jack O’Farrell U16B
Most Improved – Jack Brennan U15B
Younger Group
Player of the camp – Oisin Kirwan U13A
Most Improved – Dylan Saunders U12 KC3
“Shooting star/One to watch” – Cian O’Cathasaigh U14A
