VW Football 7s Launch at Kilmacud Crokes
2016 VW7s Football Launch at Kilmacud Crokes
The Great and the Good of the Club attended today for the official Launch of the VW7s.
Honoured by the presence of Tipp native Larry Ryan and his "Dub" wife Carmel, we were delighted to be joined by Kerry Living Legend Darran O'Sullivan and fellow Kerryman, former Westmeath and Laois Manager, our own Minor Mentor Tomás Ó'Flaharta.
Former Dub and current Wicklow Manager, Johnny Magee brought a presence the conversation with Journalists from all forms of news media. Our current Senior Player and Dublin back, Eoin Culligan spoke exclusively to Cóilín Duffy, in an interview we hope to put up on the website.
Representing Mayo was Conor Mortimer described in Wikipedia as being "famous for his blonde locks" and our own AFL2 star and four time all Ireland Finalist with Mayo, Dermot Geraghty.
It was good too to see advertisers there such as Jim Ryan from Spirit Motors (VW Repair Centre) and Ray Coary, Stillorgan Shopping Centre Manager, had some advice about local parking too!
We will see more of Volkswagen on the day, Niamh and Nicolas quietly representing them today, accepting the Club welcome as Sponsors without taking more time making speeches! Along with their Marketing partners, Bernard Brogan's Legacy Consultants, they have a lot planned to give the day a festival feel. Volkswagen Ireland will be running clips of matches in the various venues on a giant screen in Glenalbyn and online on their twitter page @VolkswagenIE from early morning. The FM104 Road hog will be there all day and broadcasting amor noon till 6pm.
Hopefully the weather on Saturday will be as good to us as it was today! And even if it isn't, the football will still be great. This year, the match programme will be given free with the admission charge. This high quality publication will have articles on many aspects related to the 7s and club football.
