Report on AHL1 match vs Cuala

Our senior hurling team recorded a hard fought win over near neighbours Cuala on Sunday. The match was played in Silverpark in front of a good crowd on a beautiful sunny morning.

Cuala went in front early following a Niall Carty goal and both teams swapped points until half time with Caolan Conway, Oisin O’Rourke and Brendan Scanlan to the fore. Score at half time was Cuala 1 9 Kilmacud Crokes 0 9

At half time we were entertained by our U12’s who played a short match which was of a very high standard.

The second half brought an increase in intensity by Crokes who slowly cleared the deficit and then went ahead. Davy Crowe Sean Kinsella and Mark Grogan led the charge aided by great distribion from Eddie Gibbons and Luke O’Loughlin. As we entered the last minute we were 3 points up with Cuala bearing down on goal however a magnificent block by Dara Geraghty helped us clear the danger and following a point from Cuala the ref blew the final whistle with Crokes 2 ahead

Many thanks to Peter Walsh, John Keane and Cormac Commins for organising the U12 exhibition which added to the day’s entertainment. It wont be too long before we see some of these lads playing AHL1.
