Punchestown 2018 Corporate Raceday - Another Fantastic Day Out For Kilmacud Patrons
Punchestown 2018 was another great outing – for evidence see Diarmuid O'Gallchobhair's excellent photo collection of the day below.
The fairly sparse and intermittent showers afforded patrons availing of the comfort of the trackside pavilion - close access to intimate viewing of the last fence and home straight. Once again we had the services of Robbie Irwin as MC par excellence. After Club Chairman, Peter Walsh's opening address - Robbie whetted the attendees' appetite with tipster’s recommendation and a preview of the upcoming races. After an excellent 3 course silver service lunch, the banter became more excited as the racing got under way - characterised by yelps from the winners and groans from the losers. Both the Raffle and Auction, key fundraisers, were well supported - we thank all the patrons and their guests once again for their generosity. The Best Dressed Ladies and Gents were received to popular acclaim. With the on course racing finished it was time to fill the wine bottles and the last event was the Ladies Stilletto Chase - the popular trek to the departing buses - allowing the more intrepid to continue their celebration in Kilmacs Bar back at Glenalbyn with the entertainment of the Manila Strings well in to the night.
