U12 Teams eventful season comes to a close
The intrepid U12s fielded 3 teams in the Dublin Go Games League and also made numerous trips down the country - Comhghairdeas libh!
The 2014 season of U12 Go-Games concluded on Saturday November 1st with our 3 teams in action in different parts of the county.
At the start of the season we set as a key objective for 2014, the fielding of 3 competitive teams for the Dublin Go-Games leagues. We divided the management resources across the 3 panels and committed to movement between the panels on the basis of performance. We also organised a number of trips down the country, all with a view to keeping ALL the boys interested .
As it turns out, we did run 3 competitive teams and now we can look forward to 2 strong panels at the U13 age group (with 15 aside teams). This has been achieved by the efforts of the team managers and mentors and the huge support effort. Special thanks to Fiona, Mark, Conor, Ferdia, Frank, , Mick, Dara, Brendan, Michael Neary, Sean and Mark Cregg. Thanks also to the many other parents that have helped throughout the year.
Finally, on behalf of the managers and mentors we would also like to thank you, the parents, for your support. We acknowledge that the trips down the country and recriprocal hospitality arrangements are a significant impact on weekends. Thank you very much.
It was all worth while, this is how we finished up:
Team 1 – Divisional winners U12 League
Team 2 – Divisional winners U12 League
Team 3 – Divisional runners up U12 League
So very proud of all teams but particularly of Team 3 who travelled to the furthest reaches of Dublin and often had to play the A teams of those smaller clubs.
