Team Spotlight - Our 2014 Hurlers
2014 Kilmacud Crokes boys
In September 2019, the nursery journey began for the 2014 Kilmacud Crokes boys and just over 2 and half years later our boys, now totalling 142, begin their first competitive taste of hurling Go Games. The boys got the best hurling start they could under the tutelage of the legendary Donie Dowling, the group is fortunate to have over 40 committed coaches who have helped the boys every step of the way.
Panel 1 took on a local derby against Cabinteely in Oatlands College, panel 2 made the trip to Lucan to take on Na Gaeil Oga, panel 3 went to Dolphin Park to take on Saint Kevin’s, panel 4 were in action again Ballinteer Saint Johns in Oatlands College and panel 5 made the visit to cathedral of hurling that is Donnybrook rugby stadium for a game against Ranelagh Gaels.
This was a very proud day for the boys, their coaches and parents as the boys battled away against tough opposition to display their range of hurling skills as well as their competitive edge. What was common in every match we played was the excellent attitude and application of the boys. We are very proud of each and every one of them.
The journey has just started for us as we enjoy the memory of today's matches and look forward to future endeavours in the purple and gold!
