2017 Lexus Race Day at Leopardstown

The annual football section fund-raiser Christmas race day at the Lexus chase was held on Thursday December 28th in Leopardstown Race course.  This was the seventh running of this event and it followed in the tradition of previous years in being a great day out. Over 300 guests enjoyed a 3 course lunch and a fantastic day's racing. The weather looked like it was going to play a big factor with the chance of the day being called off due to frozen ground, but thankfully the cold abated and a full race card went ahead.  Sam Maguire made an appearance. There were winners and losers a plenty.  Sizing John was one of the big favorites to disappoint.  After the event, members adjourned to the club bar for music and finger food.  Many thanks to all those who supported the event either from a corporate perspective or coming along and purchasing tables with friends.  Special  thanks to a number of folks who made the day such a success - Tony Kelly who was our resident tipster for the day, John Bradley who sponsored the wine, John O'Loughlin who supported our printing requirements, Spirit Motor group, Clayton Hotels, Leopardstown race course, Leinster rugby and to all those who generously sponsored and donated prizes for the raffle. Thanks also to Frances Mullin for taking the photos on the day,  John and Paul and all the staff at the racecourse. Lastly a very special thanks to the football section event organizing committee of  Gerry Greene, Conor Noone, Ronnie Murray and John Moriarty  for their efforts in planning and coordinating event.  Here’s looking forward to Lexus 2018.
