Kilmacud Crokes Parc De Burca Development Update

Body

In July of this year, members will recall we carried out the removal of the trees along the entrance avenue off Lwr Kilmacud Road to facilitate the beginning of the development work of Parc de Burca ( Club’s main pitch) A key aspect of this project will be the completion of works on the entrance and avenue leading up to the club from Lower Kilmacud Road. This avenue is a private road owned by Kilmacud Crokes.

The work will involve the partial re-routing and re-surfacing of the road, and laying down of a footpath prior to the development of the pitch.  This is a requirement of the pitch development planning permission (planning approval available to view on the website of DLRCC). We wish to give advance notice to members and neighbours that this work will begin early in the new year, likely start will be Jan 3rd 2019.  The work on the avenue will take 10-15 weeks.  During this time the road will, for health and safety reasons, be closed to all traffic and vehicular access to the club will be from the other entrance located near Linden Lea on Glenalbyn Road.

Pedestrian access from Allen Park Drive to the Club will, as far as possible, be maintained throughout the work. Pedestrian access to Lower Kilmacud Road from the Club or Allen Park Drive will be suspended for health and safety reasons throughout the work.

Disruption to club activities  and services will be mitigated as much as possible. The project will be managed by a licensed construction contractor.  As we get closer to the start of the works, more detailed specific communications will be shared with members.  We would request that in the interest of health  and safety  that members and neighbours would adhere to all project signage, information and directions provided. Any questions related to this communication can be addressed to info@kilmacudcrokes.com.

We hope these works will not cause too much inconvenience and thank you in advance for your cooperation in what is very exciting and important work for the future of our club and for the future of our community of Kilmacud and Stillorgan. Once this aspect of the work is complete we hope to move quickly to complete the development of the pitch itself in line with the planning permission already in place.
