Pairc De Burca Development Update

Members Advisory

As members will no doubt be aware, the club has plans in place to develop our main club pitch Pairc De Burca in Glenalbyn. This will involve the installation of flood lights, reorientation of the pitch to increase its size, upgrade of goal mouth areas and ball stop netting.  Executing on these plans has been disrupted by the pandemic restrictions. As the government has now clarified under the latest communication re the easing of restrictions, non-essential construction can restart from May 4th.   We can now update members that the development work on Pairc de Burca will start on May 10th. This will mean the pitch will be unavailable until likely the end of August. While this will mean lots of juggling of alternate pitch resources while this is happening, the ultimate prize will be the realization of a long held club ambition to have a fully flood lit home championship size pitch as we head into the winter.  As the project progresses we will update members and provide ongoing updates.  In addition to the development work to double the size of the players gym, increase our Club shop floor space and implementing an online shop facility, the Pairc De Burca upgrade is a generational project which puts the club in a strong position for the future.
