MARVELLOUS MAYHEM ON CLUB FUNDAY
Report and photos from a great club day of fun and frolics on Saturday last follow below. Well done to all concerned, great craic and no little organisation involved as you can tell from the photos alone!
The Family Fun Day on Saturday was a tremendous success. We had plenty of sunshine, plenty of help and lots of families who turned out to enjoy themselves.
We had Dublin players from all the sections, Brian Geraghty in a particularly fetching apron at the Barbeque and even a celebrity appearance from Love/Hate. To sample the atmosphere and view some of the photos please click on this link
A special thanks to Harrison Productions who provided the excellent music throughout. To the Senior /Minor Ladies and Mens footballers and Hurlers & Camogie players who volunteered their time and came along to join in with all our younger players. We are delighted with the success they achieved this weekend, it makes the time given in the club extra special.
The bails of hay drew many little male and female farmers. The water features proved as popular as always with sponge throwing which Ali (ladies football) seem to enjoy as much as the lads. The water slide (mud slide would have been a more appropriate name) drew children like magnets much to the dismay of many a parent.
Numerous obstacles for Sliotars and footballs to be aimed at, proved as tricky for our Senior lads/lassies as it did for the juvenile players. Attractions included wheelbarrow rides, limbo dancing, hoops, tug of war, races of all types all organized and run by club members/players. The Barbeque, teas and coffees, ensured that the picnic tables were populated throughout.
A special thanks to VHI Swift care for their donation towards the day and to all our club members, these are the club days our children will remember.
Well done and a heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers on the day but especially to the committee who made it all possible.
