When the going gets tough..the tough get going..to Punchestown, Tue, 20th April
Dear Reader,
From time to time, clubs such as ours embark on major landmark projects to drive a step change in the available facilities. For Kilmacud Crokes Hurling the most recent example is undoubtedly the Hurling Arena. A superb asset as we endeavour to serve over 500 children at all ages, and many more adult players, the Arena cost over €500,000.
It was clear from the outset that a major new source of revenue would be required to pay off such a cost. For the last six years a hugely successful fundraiser has been held in the form of the Corporate Race Day at Punchestown at the end of April. Proceeds have substantially reduced the Arena debt and, as well as debt servicing, it is intended that a major part of future funds raised will go to improving and expanding the coaching of hurling in the club.
The 2010 Race Day will be held on the opening day of the Punchestown National Hunt Festival, Tuesday 20th April. Punchestown is renowned as one of the social and sporting highlights of the year and an ideal opportunity to entertain friends, customers and VIP’s in highly prestigious surroundings. Our 2010 Punchestown package, at a reduced rate, is better than ever with:
· Spectacular glass fronted Punchestown Pavilion overlooking last fence
· Four course lunch by Dobbins with wine served to your table
· Professional and Celebrity tipsters to mark your card
· Afternoon tea and snacks
· Free Bus transfer to and from the racecourse
There are three Grade 1 races including the feature race - the Kerrygold Champion Chase over 2 miles. Last year we had a magnificent response, with over 1,000 people attending and we received incredibly positive feedback. We ask you to support our voluntary efforts and help us defray the financial burden by completing and returning the enclosed booking form. If you cannot commit to a full table, we have availability for smaller numbers at €150 per head. Alternatively we would be grateful for any other form of assistance you may be able to give.
