Minor B's beat Naomh Iosalde
The first match for the Minor Bs after the exams break was an away fixture against Naomh Iosolde at Liffey Gaels grounds in Inchicore. Due to a glut of under-age fixtures and the seasonal unavailability of some players numbers were tight and the game was played with 14 a side. The first half was fairly evenly contested though the Crokes superior fitness and skill level gradually began to come to the fore and a series of points from Dara Ó Gallchobhair from placed balls and play as well as point by C.J. O’Dwyer left them ahead by seven points to three at half-time.
Crokes extended their superiority in the second half and with the backs holding firm throughout the opposition never really looked like threatening the Crokes goal. Dara Ó Gallchobhair was again to the fore on the scoreboard in the second half and Dylan Paisley, Stephen Faughey also chipped in with points. The final score was a 0-14 to 0-04 win for the Crokes. The backs were outstanding throughout particularly Seán Bedford, Graham Healy-Hayes and Cathal Keane-Breslin while Dara Mullin was outstanding in midfield despite taking some hard knocks.
