New Era begins for Kilmacud Football
The well-attended Football Section AGM (2007) marked the end of a glorious era in the club's development and, hopefully, the start of another successful chapter. Donegal native, Pauric McMenamin, stepped aside after 25 years on the committee, having been Chairman since 1990. Pauric is synonymous with all things Kilmacud but the All Ireland Sevens is particularly close to his heart. All present were loud in their praise of Pauric's immense contribution which was always delivered with passion, energy and professionalism. The success of his era has been incredible, both on and off the pitch. We look forward to his ongoing contribution to the club, whatever form that might take.
Pauric ended his term by proposing Pat Lamb for the top job and he was elected unopposed. Pat is one of the most popular club members and comes from a fantastic Kilmacud family. His wife Daphne is club secretary and their sons are active on various club teams. Pat is well known for his friendly demeanour and his hard work over the years as a player, committee man and team mentor. In 2007 he managed the club's Adult-5 team.
Both men were wished well on their respective futures. The exceptional volunteer commitment evident from the floor bodes well for the future of football in the club.
