SENIOR 2s ADVANCE TO LAST 16 OF INTER CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday Morning, Crokes needed extra time to advance to the last 16 of the Intermediate Championship with a hard fought 2:10 to 2:7 win over Thomas Davis in Sancta Maria pitch in Ballyboden

Played in wet and windy conditions, Crokes took time to get going and could only muster 2 points in the first half, Thomas Davis entering the break 1:1 to 2 points helped by a 15th minute goal.

The introduction of Conor Burns at half time helped galvanise the team and Crokes scored 1:3 in a 10 minute dominant spell.  David Higgins flicked the goal with Shane Horan, Paul Johnson and the impressive Kevin O'Cearbhaill adding points. Thomas Davis to their credit responded with another goal 15 minutes from time to put themselves a point up.  Crokes were the better team in the last 10 mins and equalised - almost snatched a win at the end!

In extra time, Crokes superior fitness and bench won out with O'Cerabhaill and substitute Cuan O'Flaharta getting crucial scores to see them through to the next round.
