LEOPARDSTOWN FUNDRAISER 28th DEC - PHOTOS
Body
A great day in Leopardstown today for the annual Football Section fundraiser! Great to see so many younger members present and enjoying themselves after a hectic few months on the playing fields. Likewise the presence of a number of overseas members added to the occasion, all keen to join in the celebrations and the general camraderie. The action on the track had folk off their seats and craning for a window view towards the end of every race: sporadic outbreaks of happy noise confirmed that the Tote was not having things its own way - some more happy than others of course! Tom Mannion had more reason to celebrate than most as the event coincided with a special birthday and he won a spot prize to boot - what a year 2012 has been for the Mannions! Newbie novelist, Sheena Lambert, was also enjoying proceedings with her extended (Glynn) family and her "Alberta Clipper" book was one of the more appreciated spot prizes, especially when signed. However, one feels Paul Gallagher went home happiest with a signed and framed Dublin All Ireland jersey under his arm, on top of his winnings! The food and drink was top class and the MC, Tony Kelly, provided excellent guidance for the large attendance. As if that wasnt enough his closing Ted Walsh "party-piece" brought the house down! Well done to the organising committee - you did a great job; these photos confirm your efforts were greatly appreciated!
