MINOR A TEAM WIN CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL V ST. MAURS
Pairc de Burca was the venue for the Minor A championship Quarter Final between Kilmacud Crokes and St Maurs. Both teams were slow to start but after 15 mins Crokes found themselves 3 points up to no score. Crokes dominated the game from there with a score line of 0-7 to 0-1 in their favour but just before halftime St. Maurs kept themselves in the game with 2 points leaving the halftime score at 0-7 to 0-3 in Crokes favour.
After the break Crokes got the 1st score of the half but soon after conceded a penalty which was converted. Leaving the score at 0-8 to 1-3 Crokes were stronger in the air winning not only their own kick outs but a lot of Maurs as well.
Crokes had some great surging runs forward and earned 2 more points, but St. Maurs slipped in another goal keeping themselves in touch. St. Maurs brought the game back to a point but 4 unanswered points helped Crokes pull away. Crokes had been the better team without question and went on to convert a well won penalty. In the end Crokes saw off Maurs by 1-14 to 2-3 and booked their place in the semi-final.
