Stillorgan and its links to 1916

As part of the club's 1916 centenary celebrations,  Kilmacud Crokes hosted the first of a number of presentations in Glenalbyn House on Wednesday 9 March

 

Four speakers, were introduced by MC Michael Kinsella, who welcomed the large attendance to Glenalbyn.

 

Pat Sheridan spoke about Pearse and his family
Ross O Carroll gave an interesting insight into the GAA from 1916 to 1924
Peter Sobolewski spoke about MJ OREILLY, a Stillorgan native and patriot
Brian McMahon gave a most interesting account about the  "Stillorgan Incident of 1916"

 

Afterwards the attendance was entertained by live traditional music in the bar (Kilmacs) until late into the night!
