2008 - Under 13 Team Spotlight - Ladies Football

2008 U13 Ladies football has over 70 active participants split between four squads. We are lucky to have a total of 16 coaches and 9 of them are female. Additionally, we have lots of help from willing parents anytime it is required. We are very proud that we have maintained the same core group of girls from their early days in the nursery.

Like all other athletes, our girls found lock down hard but even so, we had super attendance at all the on-line training sessions and the girls arrived back on to the pitches with huge smiles (and a lot of chatter) rearing to go.  In 2021 our four teams are competing in Divisions 1, 3, 7 and 9 respectively.  We were also lucky enough to be able to enter two teams in the single code league (for those girls not playing Camogie) and are competing in Division A & B.  Come on out and see the girls play sometime!

A lot of our girls play complimentary sports such as Basketball, Camogie, Soccer and Hockey. We regularly bring guest coaches along to spice things up and most recently had Kilmacud Crokes Senior Goalie – Rachel Fleming – down to share her wisdom.

This year saw us moving to an (almost) full size pitch which is a big step up but the girls have risen to the challenge admirably. With our first matches under our belt we look forward to a competitive year of football.
