Congratulations to the U15A Camogie team who came through a fantastic division 1 final replay against Naomh Bríd to be crowned county champions in Abbotstown on Saturday.

Having levelled the first match with the last puck of the ball, Naomh Bríd were first to point in the replay, before Crokes levelled with a pointed 45.  Naomh Bríd added three more points to build a three-point lead by the fifteenth minute. Crokes then responded with a flourish, scoring 2-5 in the second quarter, and conceding just one point. The first half finished with Crokes leading by 7 points, 2-6 to 0-5.

In a reversal of what happened in the drawn game, Naomh Bríd came out of the blocks fastest in the second half, scoring two goals within two minutes. Crokes steadied the ship with two points from play before Naomh Bríd levelled the match with a third goal heading into the final quarter. They added a point shortly afterwards and the game ebbed and flowed until Crokes scored a third goal with ten minutes on the clock, followed by another goal and a point to build a 5 point lead with seven minutes left.

Naomh Bríd battled to the end adding two more pointed frees before the final whistle saw the game finish 4-9 to 3-9.  Both teams contributed to a great sporting spectacle over two weekends.

This U15 championship title saw the Crokes girls complete a division 1 league and championship double in 2023, a feat they also achieved as U13s in 2021.
