The Kilmacud Crokes Community is saddened to hear of the death  of  Donal Gallagher after a long illness bravely borne. Donal is survived by Anne O ' Connor and their children Aoife, Rachel, Jack, Katie  Lily, and their recently born granddaughter Thea.

Donal was central to the development of ladies football in Kilmacud Crokes since the early 1990s. Donal was a skilled and knowledgeable  coach and was core to the development of many women who are now playing with our adult teams and many who have lined out for Dublin. He was coach of the Ladies team that gained promotion from Intermediate to Senior football in 2000.

He is fondly remembered as a kind sift spoken gentleman who devoted many hours to Ladies Football. He was active across all codes and contributed hugely to many Sevens tournaments over the years. Ladies Football will long be grateful for his knowledge  commitment and devotion to our club.

He, and Anne, instilled in their children a deep commitment to the philosophy of volunteering in sport. Aoife coaches our recently promoted second team currently captained by her sister Rachel. Katie and Lily play in the adult ranks. Katie and Rachel also referee.

Kilmacud Crokes offer our deepest condolences to Anne, Aoife, Rachel, Jack Katie and Lily and all his family and friends.
