JUVENILE FOOTBALL SUMMER TRAINING - U12s
The Juvenile Football training initiative continued recently with boys from the U12 panel benefitting from exposure to a typical AFL training session. The aim of these sessions is to introduce the juvenile football squads to the increased intensity and elite-level training methods they will experience as they progress through the juvenile grades in Crokes.
Under the expert guidance of club legends Patch Duggan and Mark Vaughan, the U12 boys received pointers from the training routines of both Club and County. As the U12 boys emerge from the Coiste environment in the coming months, training intensity will increase in line with the boys’ growing physical capabilities and footballing ambitions. This expertly-developed session gave them a superb insight into what the footballing future holds for them in Kilmacud Crokes.
Gary Hannify (U12 Football Coordinator) commented, “First and foremost, the lads hugely enjoyed the session. Patch and Mark have a wealth of experience between them under a multitude of top-class coaches and brought together a training session which really engaged our lads. The pace and precision of AFL training is a step up and we were delighted at how our boys responded to the challenge. We really appreciate the time and effort Patch and Mark put into the session and Adam Coughlan for making it happen. We look forward to progressing further with the initiative next year at U13.”
