Thanks to the Kilmacud Crokes family

It’s a bit strange writing this but it has been quite a couple of months. Those days and weeks since we lost Larry have not been easy but they certainly would have been a lot harder without the extraordinary support of the club.

Ma, or Carmel as most of you know her, asked me to write something to put on the site to thank you all for everything the past while and it’s genuinely hard to express just how much it has meant to us all.

From the choir at Kill O’The Grange church, through to so many of you wearing purple and gold on the day, to the many, many, many messages we received, as well as Dr Clíodhna O’ Mahoney who helped my partner Shubhangi when Carmel fainted (she was fine), it really has been wonderful.

Unfortunately health issues meant Carmel couldn’t join you all at the 7s this year but once she’s got a bit more rest she, and the rest of us, are looking forward to wearing the club colours in person at games this championship season.

Oh and I can’t wrap this up without being sure to mention the great performance of the senior camogie team at the 7s this past weekend. I’m sure Larry was smiling seeing you all do so well and he’s having a word with the boss upstairs to help you complete the set of county senior titles for the club.

As for the boss downstairs, well we’re grateful for how much you’ve all been there for her this past while. Even what you might consider the small stuff has meant so much to us and to Carmel in particular.
